Here are answers to questions we frequently receive from students considering Brown Mackie College.
When are classes offered?
We offer day, evening and weekend classes. Schedules vary depending on program and location and are published on a monthly basis. We offer courses at different times of the day in order to accommodate different schedules. However, we cannot guarantee the time slot or the offering of specific classes in any given month.
Can I choose the class I want?
That depends on the program you've chosen. All programs have a certain number of required courses that must be completed prior to graduation. That said, some degree programs allow a certain number of elective courses where you can choose a course among several offered.
What is the ASSET Test?
The ASSET Test is the Assessment of Skills for Successful Entry and Transfer Test. We use this test to get a better understanding of your English and math skills, which helps us determine classes you should be placed in. You'll want to take the test and do your best. If you score above a certain level, you will not be required to take transitional or college-level courses in English and math.
How much will I spend on books and supplies?
The typical Brown Mackie College student spends between $320 and $625 on books and supplies per quarter. Of course, it varies depending on your program of study and is not included in tuition costs.
How do you develop your curriculum?
Programs offered at a Brown Mackie College are developed to meet the needs of employers. To stay current, we constantly consult with local employers and industry experts. This helps us determine the skills, knowledge and abilities required. We then use this market information to design a program that conforms to education and accreditation regulations.
How qualified are your instructors?
Every instructor has an earned degree and professional experience. Many of our instructors have years of professional experience in their fields.
Will the Brown Mackie College schools help me find part-time work while I'm in school?
Yes! Thanks to our contact with local employers, our career services staff can assist you in finding a part-time work opportunity while you are in school. Through registration with the local school's Career Services Office, every effort will be made to assist. However, placement is not guaranteed.
Do you provide employment assistance to alumni?
